In late 2019 someone named RĂ¼diger Kupke contacted me and told me he has a homebrew replica of the SYS-80F. While developing Z80 automation software for steel mills in the 80s, he decided to make a clone of the SYS-80F. The circuitry is not equivalent to the one present in the SYS-80F, but long nights disassembling, commenting and adapting the firmware made it possible to be software-compatible. Together with his friends he spent a lot of time getting the System to run, and eventually it worked. Now, 35 years later he finally managed to boot it again. Sadly the Powersupply does not work, so he had to use a AT powersupply for now; here is a picture of this pretty system:
The cards used were initially meant to be installed in industrial applications, and were repurposed. Some needed almost no change, while other cards had to be made entirely new.
Originally he also designed a Terminal compatible to the one used in the SYS-80F, but currently he uses the Computer to act as a Terminal. To store data 8 inch floppy disks and drives are used.
I am very happy that RĂ¼diger Kupke contacted me and provided all this information. He also provided a scan of the FLP-80DOS user manual, but because of the immense size (~200MB) I will not upload it here. If you want it, feel free to contact me!
